How Does an EPF Calculator Work?
The Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) is a retirement savings scheme where both the employee and employer contribute a fraction of the basic salary every month. This calculator determines the maturity amount of your EPF by accounting for standard contributions, compound interest, and your expected annual salary increments.
Contribution Breakdown
- Employee Contribution: Generally 12% of the basic salary + DA is deducted and added to the EPF.
- Employer Contribution: The employer matches the 12%. However, 8.33% goes to the Employee Pension Scheme (EPS), and only the remaining 3.67% is credited to your EPF account.
- Interest Calculation: EPF interest is calculated monthly on the running balance but is usually credited to your account at the end of the financial year.
